Senly

Privacy

Last updated:

Senly hasn’t launched yet. This policy describes version 1 of the app as we’re building it. We’ll review it when the app launches and update the date above.

The short version

The app

Senly is for adults 18 and over.

What stays on your iPhone

Senly keeps what you enter in a database on your iPhone:

The app never sends any of this to us or to anyone else, except the anonymous counts below, and only if you turn them on. Senly doesn’t sync it through iCloud, and there’s no AI in the app.

Backups

If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, iOS includes Senly’s data in that backup, as it does for most apps. Apple handles iCloud backups under its own privacy policy.

Anonymous usage counts

These are off unless you turn them on. If you turn this on, the app sends our server only these:

They carry no identifier. They never include anything you wrote, when you used the app, or what’s in your sessions. Like any connection, the request shows your IP address to our server and its hosting provider. Our server doesn’t store it. You can turn this off at any time in the app.

Your email (optional)

If you choose, you can give us your email in the app to get news about Senly and occasional offers. We ask for your explicit consent first. We store your email on our server, never linked to usage counts or to anything else about how you use Senly, and we don’t know whether you’ve subscribed. Every email will have a one-tap unsubscribe link, and its subject and sender won’t mention your habit. Senly doesn’t send emails yet. Before it does, we’ll name the service that sends them in this policy. To have your email deleted, write to privacy@senly.app.

Reminders

If you allow notifications, Senly schedules reminders on your iPhone. They don’t pass through our server, and their text doesn’t mention your habit, so your lock screen doesn’t reveal it.

Purchases

Senly is a subscription sold through the App Store, and Apple processes payment. We don’t receive your name, Apple ID or payment details. Apple gives us sales reports, such as how many subscriptions were sold in each country.

Crash reports

If you turn on Share With App Developers in iOS settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us. You can turn it off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Deleting your data

Deleting Senly from your iPhone deletes everything it stored there. Copies in older backups remain until those backups are replaced or deleted. Usage counts carry no identifier, so we can’t find the ones that came from your iPhone. To delete your email, write to privacy@senly.app.

This website

senly.app is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and block abuse, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the details your browser sends with each request, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Cloudflare also gives us aggregate traffic statistics. We add no cookies, no analytics or tracking scripts, and nothing loaded from other domains.

Email

If you email us, we receive your address and your message and use them only to reply. Mail sent to senly.app addresses passes through Cloudflare and is stored by Google (Gmail). You can ask us to delete your messages.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, at privacy@senly.app. Under Brazil’s LGPD you can also file a complaint with the national data protection authority (ANPD).
